real life

*****When I said I have nothing against girls who post beautiful pictures, I meant it! All I'm saying here is that as I thought to myself, "What cute pictures do I have to put on the blog?" I only found these ordinary joe-shmoe (yes, I had to look up the spelling of that!) pictures. Then I realized how beautiful they really are. :)

As I looked at pictures the other day, I realized that I have a pretty good representation of real life here.

I have nothing against girls who have great cameras (and sweet photography and editing skills) and who post beautiful pictures of their (seemingly) perfect children on their blogs. I really don't.

I am, however, not that kind of mother.

And so, the pictures I have of my kids look like this,

and this,

look at Thomas's face - "saaavvvvvveeeeeee me!"

and this,

and this,

Thomas has a thing with keeping things in his mouth, ALL the time!

and this,

and this,

one sock always falls off...

oh, and this,

These pictures look like real life.

No editing
or perfect lighting
or perfect backgrounds
or perfect outfits (we prefer pj's)
or perfect smiles
or perfectly clear photos
or adorable poses...

But REAL, awesome, totally untouched, and totally and completely real photos that represent our very real, very lived-in lives.

And this, my friends, is just the way I want to remember my sweet boys. :)

  3. I just love you, seester, and your adorable boys. I can't wait to squeeze them this summer and love on them. I totally see some 4-year-old April faces on Thomas! :) I completely agree with this post! Even though I have a nice camera, I have NO clue how to use it, so my pictures are always "joe-schmoe" as well. What a great reminder to just enjoy life and the special moments with your kids. Love you!
